on behalf of federal regulatory authorities. The claims center maintained records
and disbursed receivership payments to depositors and creditors for institutional
receiverships across several states.
BANKRUPTCY – Axxion administers and distributes receivership funds on
behalf of a Trustee under the terms of a creditor trust agreement.
CONSUMER FINANCE / FINANCIAL SERVICES – Axxion personnel administered
a settlement involving allegations of usurious interest rates on funds advanced
by a short-term lender.
CONSUMER PRODUCTS / PRODUCT LIABILITY – Axxion personnel administered
a class action involving one million class members who purchased a specific type
of wheel alignment.
HEALTHCARE / PERSONAL INJURY – Axxion personnel served as the administrator
of a personal injury class action settlement involving individuals allegedly exposed
to Hepatitis C through the use of a blood-derivative medical product designed to
boost patients’ weakened immune systems.
INSURANCE – Axxion serves as the Administrator of a settlement between
an insurance company and a state’s insurance regulatory authorities resolving challenged
conduct under which the company qualified for larger bonuses and contingent commissions.
MEDICAL LIABILITY – Axxion personnel administered a class action settlement
involving transmission of Hepatitis B disease to patients during clinical tests
administered by an infected health care worker.
PENSION BENEFITS – Axxion personnel administered the nation’s largest
pension benefits class action involving the distribution of over $1 billion benefits
to a putative class involving over 10,000 terminated pension plans.
RIGHTS-OF-WAY / REAL ESTATE – Axxion administers class action settlements
involving U.S. nationwide telecom companies who placed fiber optic cable in abandoned
and active railroad corridors in various states. Axxion also administers settlements
involving real estate converted to recreational trails. The engagements involve
GIS mapping of corridors and adjacent properties; developing information on affected
properties; developing property metrics; researching owners of record; determining
